We love because He first loved us.
1st John 4:19
Our WMU & WOM groups encompass all ages. Our purpose is the same as when we began in 1888. The story that Jesus commanded his followers to embrace in Matthew 28:19 is still relevant today for the people of our communities. The WBC women work along with our Baptist Men. We sponsor the B.B. Roberts Annual Turkey Dinner giveaway, as well as, the Angel Tree project at Christmas. In addition, we work closely with local schools to meet any needs: shoes, food, clothing, etc. WOM sponsors our Annual Fall Bazaar in its 8th year.
In recent years, we have had many of our members join with the Liberty Baptist Association mission team in going to the Christian Activity Center in one of the nation's most decimated and world's most dangerous cities, East St. Louis, Illinois. Prayer is a vital part of any group, and we pray for our missionaries, home and foreign. Our prayer is that we can be the hands and feet of Jesus right here in Wallburg.
Our mission... is to inform and inspire Christians to influence their world for Christ.
But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. Hebrews 10:39
We meet on the first Wednesday evening of the month at 6:00pm in the FH Conference room during the meal. Join us!

Missions...it's not just a project, it's a way of life
As we enter the month of March 2025 we focus on the Week of Prayer March 2nd - 9th for North American Missions and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. We often think the missions field is far away and in some distant country...and it is, but is also right outside our door in Wallburg.
Who is Annie Armstrong?
Annie was born in Baltimore at a time when there was little opportunity for women. Yet, her devotion to Christ led her to a life of service and leadership. She organized women to pray, to give and to meet the needs around them. She challenged pastors and churches to action and rallied vital support for missionaries. Annie spent most of her life working from her hometown. Through her writing skills, she raised support for missionaries and funding for WMU and also provided mission discipleship material. In a span of ten years, she reported having written 77,447 letters and manuscripts. Averaging mailing 8,000 letters per year and roughly 674 letters per month. She was instrumental in the formations of WMU in 1888, serving as the first recording secretary (now executive director) until 1906. Under her leadership , WMU grew from a gathering of 32 delegates to an entity representing thousands of Southern Baptist women from more than 20,000 churches. In 1934 the Easter offering for home missions (now North American missions) was named in her honor. (Excerpt from Mission Mosaic)
Annie Armstrong (1850-1938) "What a glorious thing it is to be a coworker with God in winning the world to Christ.”
