Senior Friendly Club

Our Senior Citizens ministry at Wallburg Baptist Church offers a time of fellowship for those who consider themself a senior adult. Mrs. Jessie Bryant organized the senior citizens ministry for our church in 1979 and under her leadership this ministry decided on the name Friendly Club.

The Senior Citizens Friendly Club at Wallburg Baptist Church meets monthly for a time of fellowship. We have meals, movies, information sessions and more. We often meet to go out to lunch and sometimes take a day trip.
Our annual Senior Adult Vacation Bible School is held each year in August. We enjoy a weeklong adventure that includes guest speakers, Bible study, crafts, food, door prizes, fun and fellowship.

Our annual mission project is preparing care packages for the patients under the care of Hospice of Davidson County., We have enjoyed this project for over 30 years, and it takes place during our annual Thanksgiving luncheon in November. We have guest speakers from Hospice of Davidson County who join us for this event, and we present the care packages to them during this time.

We invite anyone who would like to join us for our activities and meetings to come and enjoy a time of Christian fellowship together.

Seniors New Years Luncheon
Our Senior Citizens Friendly Club will be having their annual New Years luncheon on Tuesday, January 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the fellowship hall. The lunch will be provided. Our special guest speaker will be our friend Austin Decker from the North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry. The program will be on how churches can help prevent elder abuse. I attended this program at the NCBAM office in Thomasville in October and I felt that it was so important that I asked Austin to come present this program at our church. So, I personally want to invite anyone who has an elderly parent, grandparent, neighbor, friend, loved one - to come and join us on this date and have lunch with us.
