What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Who are we?

Followers of Jesus Christ! His church and His body.
The church is made up of people from all walks of life who have repented of their sins and placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. And because of that we are seeking to build His church by teaching His word and making Disciples.
We come together to worship, grow, and learn. We leave from here to impact our families, friends, community, and world.

What do we teach?

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and accurate word of God. It is our only rule for faith and life and is complete and sufficient, needing nothing to be added to it.  Psalm 19, 119, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:3-4, 19-21, Jude 1:3-4, Revelation 22:18-19

God

We believe in one God, revealed to us in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each with distinct attributes but all 3 are co-eternal and co-equal. Isaiah 44:6, John 5:23, 2 Corinthians 3:17

Humanity

Mankind is created in the image of God and because of that our intrinsic value and worth is found in our relationship to Him.  Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139

Sin

Although mankind was created in the image of God, we fell into sin and now all people are sinners and separated from their Creator because of sin. Romans 3, 5:12-21, Galatians 3-4.  Sin is defined as disobedience to God's word through action, intention, motive or desire. And the wages of sin is death and separation from God.  Matthew 5:17-48, Romans 6:23, 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10

Salvation

Jesus Christ, God's Son, the Second Person of the Trinity, took on a body to be born of a virgin and live a sinless life and die and rise again for sinners.  Hebrews 10, Romans 4:25.  He promises eternal life, forgiveness of sins and a new life to those who would turn from their sin and place their faith in Him alone as their Lord and Savior. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Ephesians 2:1-10

Assurance

A believer is eternally secure because of what Christ has done and the fact that He keeps them saved.  Experiencing this assurance comes as we walk daily with Him and grow in our knowledge and application of His word. Romans 8

Growth

The Christian life is to be marked by growth in grace as we seek to live more and more for Jesus.  2 Peter 1:1-11

Church Life

All activities of the life of our church stem from our study of the word, our fellowship, our prayer, baptisms, and celebrating the Lord's table together.  These are the foundations for all of our other ministries.  Acts 2:42-47

Serving

The Holy Spirit of God has empowered and gifted every believer to fulfill a certain task in His church and in this world.  Some of the New Testament gifts were specifically for the Apostolic age of the church, but every believer is gifted with one or more of the normative gifts.  We encourage and help people to find a place of service, where they can be used by God.  Romans 12:1-21, 1 Corinthians 12-14, Ephesians 4:7-15, 1 Peter 4:7-11
