And so I am sure confident that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:6
Hwy 109 Youth is our middle and high school student ministry, led by our youth pastor, Pastor JC. These students are striving to equip themselves with the gospel of Jesus Christ, in order to achieve God’s will in their lives and have a better understanding of the bible.
Our goal is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in our church family, community, and beyond though Christian fellowship and love carrying out any missionary work that the Lord leads us to.
We work to keep these students engaged through bible study and fellowship during our Sunday School Class at 10am on Sundays and during Wednesday evening service at 7pm. They have enjoyed structured bible studies with questions and answer time, crafts, games, and many other activities to help reinforce all they are learning in the bible study. We also meet out side of the normal service times for fun and engaging activities to allow our youth to build friendships and have the opportunity to put lessons into action.

August 2025 Newsletter
I hope that you all had a blessed month of July! As we enter into August please be in prayer for our teens as they start back to school at the end of this month!
Here is a brief update on what our youth group has been learning…
Sunday Mornings: On Sunday mornings, we are continuing our study in the book of Galatians. Our goal is to teach our teens the truth of the gospel which is salvation comes from their faith and trust in Christ alone!
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” –Galatians 2:20
Wednesday Evenings: For Wednesday evenings, we have been in a new study titled “Stand Firm” where our teens learn how and why they are to share their faith for Christ
“Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel.” -Philippians 1:27
Our Hwy 109 youth also went on a mini mission retreat July 30-Aug 1 and we had an absolute blast! We went to assist at Anchor Ridge ministries located in West Jefferson, NC. We were blessed to help pack items to help out locals and to give our teens an opportunity to serve others like Jesus!
As always it's a joy and honor to serve as Youth Pastor at WBC. If there is any way I can be of service to you or your families please let me know.
