Hwy 109 Youth

And so I am sure confident that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6

Hwy 109 Youth is our middle and high school student ministry, led by our youth pastor, Pastor JC. These students are striving to equip themselves with the gospel of Jesus Christ, in order to achieve God’s will in their lives and have a better understanding of the bible.

Our goal is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in our church family, community, and beyond though Christian fellowship and love carrying out any missionary work that the Lord leads us to.

We work to keep these students engaged through bible study and fellowship during our Sunday School Class at 10am on Sundays and during Wednesday evening service at 7pm.  They have enjoyed structured bible studies with questions and answer time, crafts, games, and many other activities to help reinforce all they are learning in the bible study.  We also meet out side of the normal service times for fun and engaging activities to allow our youth to build friendships and have the opportunity to put lessons into action.

June 2024 Newsletter

Greetings WBC Family!

I hope you all had a great month of May!

Here is a brief update on what our student    ministry has been learning…

Sunday Mornings: On Sunday mornings are continuing our study titled “You Asked For It.” This series will consist of various Biblical questions people may ask such as about God, redemption through Christ, books of the Bible, death, and much more! This study will allow our teens to better equip themselves with answers to the hard questions life may bring them.

“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” – 1 Peter 3:15

Wednesday Evenings: During the entire month of May we went through a series titled, "Anxiety and Stress." Unfortunately, many teenagers experience anxiety and depression daily, so I found this topic to be super important for us to cover. Our goal is to comfort our young people as they begin to wrestle and battle with the stress this world often brings. For June, we are excited to be starting a new series that will continue to strengthen our teens in key areas in their lives.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7

If you have or know of someone with a teenager we invite them to join us June 17-21 for Vacation Bible School each night from 5:45-8:30!

For our youth Summer camp this year we will be going back to Camp Caswell at Oak Island, NC. If you are interested in sponsoring a youth to go to church camp, please feel free to email me at jc@wallburgbaptistchurch.org or reach out to our church office any day throughout the week! Any donation would be greatly appreciated!

As always it's a joy and honor to serve as Youth Pastor at WBC. If there is any way I can be of service to you or your families please let me know.
