And so I am sure confident that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:6
Hwy 109 Youth is our middle and high school student ministry, led by our youth pastor, Pastor JC. These students (6th grade through 12th grade) are striving to equip themselves with the gospel of Jesus Christ, in order to achieve God’s will in their lives and have a better understanding of the bible.
Our goal is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in our church family, community, and beyond though Christian fellowship and love carrying out any missionary work that the Lord leads us to.
We work to keep these students engaged through bible study and fellowship during our Sunday School Class at 10am on Sundays and during Wednesday evening service at 7pm. They have enjoyed structured bible studies with questions and answer time, crafts, games, and many other activities to help reinforce all they are learning in the bible study. We also meet out side of the normal service times for fun and engaging activities to allow our youth to build friendships and have the opportunity to put lessons into action.

October 2023 Newsletter
Greetings Wallburg Family!
I hope that you all had a blessed month of September. As we enter into the busy month of October, please continue to pray for the teens in our group as they battle both school and life.
Here is a brief update on what our student ministry has been learning…
Sunday Mornings: On Sunday mornings we have been doing a character study on Moses in the book of Exodus. The students will discover faith, obedience, and even the trials this man faced as he as well as the Israelites wandered in the wilderness. I also feel this study is of great value to our students so they may become more familiar with the Old Testament. For any Christian, it's vital for us to understand both the Old and New Testaments as one cohesive story of God’s faithful love toward us!
Wednesday Evenings: We are continuing to examine different spiritual disciplines of the faith. No matter who you are or how long you have been a follower of Jesus, it is with great emphasis we all practice these different disciplines. From praying to bible reading, serving, and many more, the students will understand how these actions are activities that they should be replicating in their daily walk with the Lord.
We are also continuing our small discipleship group with the students! The next meeting will be October 15th at 12:30 pm! Our guys are going through the letter of James, while our ladies are studying the book of Esther!
Here are some other events on the horizon…
October 6th- Feed Oak Grove High School Football in Fellowship hall at 4pm
October 20th- Feed Oak Grove High School Band at OGHS 5pm
October 25th- Youth and Kids Tie-Dye Party
October 28th-Trunk or Treat—If you would like to sign up for a trunk, there will be a sheet either in the fellowship hall or vestibule. Likewise, if you would like to donate candy for the event there will be a donation bin in both of these locations as well!
As always it's a joy and honor to serve as Youth Pastor at WBC. If there is any way I can be of service to you or your families please let me know.
