Hwy 109 Youth

And so I am sure confident that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6

Hwy 109 Youth is our middle and high school student ministry, led by our youth pastor, Pastor JC. These students (6th grade through 12th grade) are striving to equip themselves with the gospel of Jesus Christ, in order to achieve God’s will in their lives and have a better understanding of the bible.
Our goal is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in our church family, community, and beyond though Christian fellowship and love carrying out any missionary work that the Lord leads us to.
We work to keep these students engaged through bible study and fellowship during our Sunday School Class at 10am on Sundays and during Wednesday evening service at 7pm.  They have enjoyed structured bible studies with questions and answer time, crafts, games, and many other activities to help reinforce all they are learning in the bible study.  We also meet out side of the normal service times for fun and engaging activities to allow our youth to build friendships and have the opportunity to put lessons into action.

March 2024 Newsletter

Greetings WBC Family!

I hope you all had a blessed month of  February!

Here is a brief update on what our student ministry has been learning…

Sunday Mornings: On Sunday mornings we will be continuing our series in Philippians. This study will be helpful for our teens by instructing them on how they can practically live for Jesus now.

“For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” – Philippians 1:21

Wednesday Evenings: On Wednesday evenings we finished up our study on the topic of sin. For February and going into March we have been tackling a new study titled “Jesus Is Enough.” This study aims to teach our students how Jesus, is, and will always be more than enough for our lives.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.– 2 Corinthians 12:9

For our youth Summer camp this year we will be going back to Camp Caswell at Oak Island, NC. If you are interested in sponsoring a youth to go to church camp, please feel free to email me at jc@wallburgbaptistchurch.org or reach out to our church office any day throughout the week! Any donation would be greatly appreciated!

As always it's a joy and honor to serve as Youth Pastor at WBC. If there is any way I can be of service to you or your families please let me know.
